    A customer pulled up an old Mercedes 2001 to our factory. He lost all car keys. Our engineer first couldn’t find the AAM adn EAM. But soon the detail showed it is not a Mercedes car, it is Ssangyong Chairman (Korean Mercedes W140) instead.

    Background info.
    SsangYong Chairman is a medium 4-door sedan manufactured by the South Korean company since 1997. Although it looks pretty similar to a Mercedes, it is not built on the same platform as the German cars but instead.
    But this car uses its own immobilizer system. Finally our engineer succeed program a new key. Follow procedures below:

    I. Read EEPROM data

    Locate the ECU computer new engine cabin B. Find out the 29F200B chip.

    Read 29F200B chip data with ecu programmer

    Solder 29F200B chip to the adapter, and read the chip data with Super Mini Pro TL866A Eprom Programmer

    Save the dump data

    II. Program key

    You use TM100, Tango or VVDI to program key for this model. Here the engineer used TM100 key programmer.
    Connect TM100 with laptop
    Open TM100 software select KeyMaker

    Select vehicle brand:SsangYong

    select Actyon  29FXXX

    click Generate key

    upload the 29F200B chip data just read

    TM100 will show the key number,select one remain programmed

    Insert 48 chip into TM100.

    select Generate Key

    TM100 generate chip succeed after 5 seconds.It will also prompt to write data back to 29F200,click Yes.

    TM100 software will generate new 29F200 data bin file.

    We write the new bin file back to 29F200B chip with TL866A. Solder back 29F200B chip to ECU. Test the new 48 chip key to start the car. It worked.
