    A surprising number of infrared key complaints resolve themselves once the owner understands the basic line-of-sight requirement, and sharing a couple of simple self-checks after a service visit can prevent an unnecessary repeat call for a problem that is not actually a fault at all. Suggesting that a customer try pointing the key more directly at the receiver area, clearing any obstruction such as a phone mount or aftermarket accessory that may have been added near the receiver, and confirming the battery was replaced correctly if that was done recently, covers the majority of situations that otherwise generate a callback.
